Introduction:
At World of Water (WOW), we embrace a unique blend of planning and adaptability as we move towards our vision. While meticulous schedules and timelines guide us, we remain open to opportunities and challenges that may arise. In this post, we’ll share a sneak peek of what’s in store over the next few years.

Phased Approach: Building the Future of the International Water Awareness Corpus [IWAC]

Our roadmap stretches over the next three years, broken into phases that focus on digital expansion of IWAC, community outreach of WOW, and physical renovations of the WOW Field Centre.  We’ve structured it into clear, achievable milestones while leaving room for creativity and growth.

Year 1:   Laying the Foundations

Expanding Digital Presence:
We’ll start by enhancing our digital catalog system and launching fresh content for our platforms. This will serve as the backbone of IWAC, connecting visitors ever closer to the World’s water heritage.

“Just ADD Water” Event:
A flagship moment—our “Just ADD Water” event will showcase everything from mudfish marvels to mouth-watering meals.

Collaborating with Local Businesses:
Establishing partnerships will form the bedrock of our outreach, with co-launches of local marketing campaigns.

Interior Renovations:
As we upgrade the WOW Field Centre, we’ll focus on creating engaging displays, improving volunteer accomodation, parking and visitor facilities.

Mobile App Development: Building the IWAC app is a priority, featuring water stories, geolocation-triggered experiences, and water heritage sites.

Year 2:   Strengthening Ties & Expanding Experiences

Local Marketing & Outreach: We’ll deepen ties with local businesses and communities, host events like Late Night Lounge interviews and boost our ‘Museum without Walls ‘ online visitor engagement.

Content Creation Continues: This year, we’ll focus heavily on creative media content, adding new features and virtual exhibitions. Educational institutions and local partnerships will take on greater roles.

Major Milestone: Museum without Walls Launch by year’s end includes podcasts of water stories, audio tracks for website blogs and vids. for the WOW YouTube channel.

Year 3: Celebrating Milestones & Looking Forward

Futures Week: This will be a major event where we bring together local influencers, businesses, and visitors to explore possible routes to the future. It’s a time to reflect on past progress and set the tone for the years ahead.

Monetization Strategies: This year, we’ll explore new revenue streams, including artifact licensing, 3D printing developments, and more advanced marketing.

Community Engagement: We’ll continue to build community outreach programs, with an eye toward increasing our role in local educational initiatives.

Visualizing Progress: We will continue to evolve our Grantt Charts for internal planning use but offer a simpler, more organic visual representation for public updates. Like a flow of water—our projects follow a set path but are flexible when necessary.
