Our Goals

At WOW, our goals reflect our deep commitment to understanding, celebrating, and preserving the multifaceted connections between humanity and water.

Through a series of strategic initiatives, we aim to gather an International Water Awareness Corpus (IWAC) as a working entity, ultimately focusing it on establishing a centre of excellence dedicated to water conservation, research and education.

Seeking Out and Preserving Different Perspectives on Water

We recognize that water has myriad stories to tell, and we are dedicated to uncovering these narratives. To achieve this, we will establish partnerships with historians, environmentalists, scientists, engineers and indigenous communities to present stories, articles, and oral histories related to water.

Our exhibitions and displays will highlight the World’s unique water-related heritage, focusing on its rivers, lakes, wetlands, aquifers and the sea. Furthermore, we will conduct research projects that explore the historical, cultural, and ecological significance of water use, ensuring that these diverse perspectives are preserved for future generations.

Creating Opportunities for Reflection

We believe that a deeper understanding of water requires opportunities for reflection. By hosting workshops, lectures, and community events, we will encourage dialogue about the importance of water in shaping global identity and culture.

Our educational programs will target schools and community groups, emphasizing water’s essential role in sustaining life and fostering interconnectedness among all living beings.

Additionally, our interactive exhibits and immersive experiences will invite participants to engage with water in meaningful and thought-provoking ways, fostering a collective consciousness about its value.

Encouraging Active Participation in Water Conservation

Our commitment to water conservation will be reflected in the thought-provoking content we create. We will develop multimedia resources such as videos, podcasts, and digital exhibits that raise awareness about water issues and inspire action for conservation.

Collaborating with artists, filmmakers, and storytellers, we will craft impactful narratives that promote stewardship of water resources within the community.

Moreover, we will partner with environmental organizations and government agencies to implement conservation initiatives and promote sustainable water management practices.

Global Recognition and Cultural Ambassadorship

Our ultimate goal is to be recognized globally as a leading institution and cultural ambassador for water-related initiatives.

We will showcase the innovative programs and initiatives of WOW through international conferences, exhibitions, and publications, highlighting our commitment to water conservation.

Collaborating with other water-focused institutions and research centres worldwide, we will exchange knowledge, expertise, and best practices.

In doing so, we aspire to serve as a model for community engagement, good environmental stewardship, and cultural preservation in the field of water conservation on a global scale.

In essence, the goals of WOW are not only to celebrate the global significance of water but also to honor the unique water heritage of local communities.

By engaging the community in meaningful dialogue and action, we strive to gather the IWAC into a robust working corpus that will pave the way for a centre of water excellence, serving as a beacon of inspiration and innovation for water conservation efforts worldwide.
