Hereford & Worcester / H20bservatory and Alms Houses crowdfunding £325,000

Please help our charity to raise £325,000 to save this building & land to build four Alms Houses.

Our Goal:

On the land, we will build four Eco Alms Houses (planning permission granted) and one gardeners demonstration eco-house.
Inside, community use.

The large building contains some seed milling machinery but now stands silent as a reminder of its first use as a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel which opened its doors on 13th November 1829.

Heritage at Risk

The building and site has been neglected for over 31 years and unless it is saved, this heritage may be demolished to make way for a new development.

Heritage buildings like this will never be built again and although it’s not a mill, it has the same look as our charity’s first home in 1978 at Aber Gwen Mill, Pencader, Carmarthenshire.

The building and adjoining land is on the market at £200,000.

So far, we have had estimates for:

A new roof £25,000
Underpinning & New Butress  £18,000
New windors/ door/ stairs  £11,500
Floor repair (Ground/1st/2nd) £7,000
Alms Houses (4) £128,000

We need help with fund raising.

“Just the sort of building that would be good for community use”
