One past festival, ECOSINEMA, showcased watery stories from diverse locations like the Amazon, Lebanon, Iceland, and Wales, encouraging audiences to rethink their connections with the rivers and seas that sustain us. Future screenings will highlight both the beauty and challenges of water, featuring documentaries that celebrate marine life while addressing pressing concerns.
Underwater Photography Contest
To celebrate the mesmerizing world beneath the waves, we will organize an underwater photography contest. Photographers from around the globe will be invited to submit captivating images that showcase marine diversity and varying water conditions. This contest aims to raise awareness of aquatic ecosystems while highlighting the importance of preserving them.
Water Tech Expo
The Water Tech Expo will serve as a platform for showcasing innovative technologies that address global water-related challenges. From water purification systems like LifeStraw to sustainable irrigation methods, this event will bring together companies and researchers committed to keeping our water cycle clean. By sharing cutting-edge solutions, we can inspire action and collaboration in tackling water scarcity and pollution.
Community Clean-Ups
While some may view beach and river clean-ups as mere cosmetic efforts, they play a vital role in promoting environmental awareness and safeguarding all water-dependent life forms—humans, birds, fish, plants, soil microbes, and insects alike. Once IWAC is operational, we will collaborate with local community groups to support river and ocean clean-ups, advocate for improved sewage treatment practices, and educate households, farmers, and manufacturers on waste reduction strategies.
